Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We were awake at 5:30 this morning and soon sat together sipping our morning coffee. About the time we finished the coffee a glance at the clock was all the urging we needed to get started.

Things went very smoothly for us and we pulled away from our Site before 8:00 which was our planned departure time. We stopped at the parking lot to connect the car to the RV and to chat with our friend Jeff who stopped mowing to say “So Long” and share a hug.

It was 8:15 when we left the Mark Twain Cave Complex and were “On the Road again”. The drive was easy with little traffic and a few construction zones which didn’t slow us down at all. We stopped in Cameron, Missouri to fuel up and arrived at Deer Creek Valley RV Park at 1:25. We were all set up by 2:00 and sat relaxing indoors to enjoy the air conditioning. We had thought we might sit outdoors on the patio with a cold drink but the 91 degree temp and uncomfortably high humidity helped us to change our mind about that.

Marilyn fixed a lite dinner for us and we were ready to relax for the evening. A very nice travel day was just what we needed and tomorrow we will stay put and share some time with friends Tom & Bernie. Life is Good!
