We had a beautiful day to travel and left Deer Creek Valley RV Park at 7:40 in the morning. Marilyn followed in her car and we communicated with the new hand held CB radios we purchased. We stopped in Cameron for fuel and a bathroom break and arrived at the Mark Twain Cave Campground at 1:00 PM.
Jennifer and the Grandkids arrived only a couple of minutes after us so we were totally distracted while trying to set up. This caused some real confusion and frustration for us. We flooded the floor when we turned on the water, broke the bathroom door when we had to run the slide in to move the RV again. (The door was left open and we had to move the RV after it was set up because we were too close to the power pedestal).
It was very stressful because we made about every mistake we could make, but the love and hugs from the family made up for all of the troubles and our son-in-law had the door fixed in a very short time. I rewarded him with a cold beer as we sat in the sunshine visiting.
Our daughter Jennifer brought sandwiches from Subway and all was well after a couple of hours of frustration.
Several of the friends who are workers here at the Cave Complex stopped by to welcome us "home" and I now have my schedule for the next two weeks. Basically I work five days a week beginning on May 2nd. Only one or two tours each day and weekends off.
So, it was a rough beginning to our time here but well worth it to see the family again. Because of the ones who love us, Life is Good!
