|Sun, 26 Jun: A quick drive north...
After an enjoyable rally with the Water Wonderland Winnies (Michigan chapter) it was time to bade farewell to the Wayne County Fairgrounds. "Bade" is hardly the word as we had to be gone by noon.
We took a real lazy approach to this departure. We had several chores to do, most notably Bob had to drain & flush our holding tanks. We'd watered up, so that wasn't on the "honey-do" list. Once all was completed, check list done, car connected, and good-byes said Sandi rolled wheels at 1025.
It was a quick drive, only 106 miles, from Belleville to Saginaw. The Fairgrounds are "freeway close", so within minutes of starting out we were in I 94 west toward Ann Arbor and US 23 north. US 23 is a good divided road with limited access. It is an older cement road and the slab seams almost rocked us to sleep.
South of Flint US 23 and I 75 merge and we continued north thru Flint to Vienna Twp where we exited the Interstate for the less-travelled and more direct State 57 and then north on State 13 to Saginaw. Our dear friends Domingo and Carmen Davila have several acres with a nice level area for our RV.
We arrived a bit after noon bringing some drizzle with us. In short order we had the car disconnected and Carpe parked near a 30A electric source. Today's 106 mile run yielded an 8⅓ mpg.
Gabbing commenced as we got caught up on our various "doings" since we left Arizona in early February. We'll be here till later in the week when we start heading to Iowa and the annual Winnebago Grand National Rally. Till then we look forward to lotsa good times with Carmen and Domingo.
