We had a rain out our first day in Hoogland. Glad we had a car. It was fun driving around just checking out the area. We got some hail on our ride to the Arnhem Outdoor Museum. Our host later commented on the ice rain and how rare it is in early May. The Outdoor Museum was a complete washout. They did not even charge for parking it rained so hard. We had to park for a while and wait it out.

We saw some reminders of WWII and took photos in the rain. But the ride was the highlight. I also want to comment on the roads in Europe. Wow, the ones we drove on looked brand new. No bumps or pot holes. The traffic signs were easy to follow. The drivers were a bit intense in the fast lane and on some roundabouts but OK if you stay out of their way. Lots of roundabouts. I personally did about 30 on one stretch of driving. That is one reason a GPS is a must.

The last part of this update is the drive to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam to return the KIA.
