Today begins the first week end of the Austin City Limits fest in Zilker Park. That means that Barton Springs Road is closed from Lamar to MoPac until the wee hours on Monday morning this week end and again next week end. Those of us who live in this area are almost like prisoners in our own neighborhood. We have to have parking passes so the police will let us onto our streets.
The weather is expected to be just about perfect this week end, unlike some years when it rained during the festival and really messed up Zilker Park. The inclement weather didn’t keep the hordes of people from attending, though.
After exercise class I bought a few groceries and some potassium. My pain management doctor told me to take the potassium to see if it would stop my leg cramps. I had blamed the pain medicine he had prescribed but he doubts that it is the cause. I hope the potassium will do the trick.
Speaking of exercise class, I’ve been going to the gym early so I can walk on the treadmill before class. I have worked up to a speed of 2.5 mph to walk the equivalent of 1.5 to 2.0 miles. I started off last month at 2.0 mph for only 15 minutes, so I think I’m making good progress
