Long day today as we drove to New Hampshire. No pictures just alot of driving. We lost several hours grocery shopping at Walmart and chasing down prescriptions at a couple of Rite Aids in Bangor. The ride through central Maine was nice until the last 15 miles or so. Road construction along several stretches reduced the road surface to Alaskan-like packed gravel. We had to travel about 20-25mph. I’m glad there wasn’t much traffic to throw up stones. I’m not sure the insurance company would replace another windshield so soon. We pulled into Timberland Camping Area at dusk in the rain. Turns out severs storm in the area killed 2 campers. Fortunately all we got was rain and some lightning.
We’ll be staying here for 4 days and see the White Mountains – Mt. Washington, Old Man of the Mountain site (even though it collapsed a few years ago), and Dixville Notch.
