After nearly six months staying in one place, we are on the road again. Today we traveled from Hannibal to Carthage, Missouri, a distance of 307 miles.
It is fun to recall the excitement of travel with the RV when we first began back in September of 2006. We have sure enjoyed the full-time RV lifestyle and now find ourselves on the way to our winter home at Retama Village in Mission, Texas.
We left the Mark Twain Cave Campground in Hannibal at 8:05 this morning, in a light rain which made windshield wipers a part of the morning. The rain had stopped by the time we reached Gasper’s at Kingdom City, where we met friends, Bob & Janet.
Bob & Janet followed us the rest of the way to the Coachlight RV park in Carthage, Missouri and we arrived just before 2:00 PM. We had spoken on the phone to friends, Denny & Jackie and they had arrived about one hour before we did.
The three couples were all parked in a row and waited for an RV Technician to arrive to repair the steps on Denny & Jackie’s motorhome. Once he arrived and had things lined out the three couples drove off to the Sirloin Stockade for a meal which was just ok. Marilyn & I had shared lunch there numerous times in the past and it was very good so we were somewhat disappointed this time.
Now, as I write this, we are all safely and cozily ensconced in our own RV’s and hoping for a restful night of sleep. We plan to leave tomorrow morning at 8:15 and travel to the Casino at Thackerville, Oklahoma.
We are back on the road and it is easy to say Life is Good!
