Carpes at West Texas Friendly RV

You know you're in Texas when you see...

US 87 in Central Texas

And they were very friendly!!!

Tue, 11 Sep: Lest we forget...

Back on the road today. It was really dark and gloomy when we awoke, but not rainy. Once we finished our morning chores, got ourselves fed, and got things ready for the road we went outside and connected the car and went thru our checklists. Sandi rolled wheels a 0939 and headed out of the city park.

A quick right onto the TX 534 loop road to I 10 and westward ho! About an hour later we reached the city of (appropriately named) Junction where we headed north on US 83. This was a mostly two lane road that gradually headed up into the hills. We transitioned to US 87 north for the balance of the day.

U.S. 87 became a four lane highway and we again had Verizon coverage (on US 83 we had nothing, no cell no data).

At Big Spring we exited onto TX 33 and got checked into the West Texas Friendly RV Park. The owners couldn't be nicer and quickly had us tucked into a brand-new full service pull thru site. Bob got us dumped and watered while Sandi leveled the coach and started getting things ready for the nite.

Today's trip was 235 miles with a fuel economy of 7⅞ mpg.
