We went to visit Greg and Judy who used to live in this area. We were there at a ROD (free to us) for about a week. We went touring several days (see the pictures) and we had good talks each evening. We may get to see them again in October at Chicken Creek when they head South for the winter.
One of the things we did was go on a dune buggy ride. The buggy was a Dodge truck that was stretched so that it could hold about 15 people. I sat if the front because of my back. The thought the ride would be slow but bumpy. It turned out that they went through the sand at up up 45 mph. The bumps weren't bad but it was like riding on a roller coaster, and I don't do coasters.
We also ate out several times. One time we had lunch with Ron and Lois (more HitchHiker friends).
We met friends of Greg and Judy that own a HitchHiker when the pulled in and camped right next to us. His name was Gary and hers Susan. He has connections with the planetarium in Jackson, MI. He got us in and all the attractions for only $6 instead of $25. They have a science section for kids mostly, a Star Trek exhibit (original costumes and such). At the end we got to see the new Star Trek movie on Imax. It was 10 times better than in a regular theater. It had something like 20,000 watts on the speakers.
