Franz Joseph Glacier

Our guide, Tim

It's pretty cool being right in the midst of natures coldest formations

Some places want to get sun but just don't have the chance

The group.

Crazy place! Franz Joseph is on of the two largest glaciers in this region. It moves at a rate of 3-10 metres per day, depending on the section of the glacier. It's deepest point is 800m. That's quite a force. Special place because there is no other place where glaciers are this close to sea level (about 200m above). Had a great time there and spent a few more days with one of the people in the group, Jodie, from Portland. We went to Lake Matheson, Queenstown (disc golfing and canyon swinging (www.canyonswing.co.nz)) and also met up in Milford Sound. Unfortunately I can't put any pictures on the site from this computer, so it'll have to wait. See you all in a couple of months!
