Our journey from Alma to West Memphis, AR was 272 miles of almost all I-40 under cloudy skies with a drizzle coming down about the last hour or so. We did stop after getting off I-40 in West Memphis to give the Mothership another drink before going four miles farther to get to the RV Park. My over-the-road photographer decided there was nothing worth taking pictures of and since it was wall to wall trucks on I-40, I tend to agree. The stretch between Little Rock and Memphis is particularly heavy with truck traffic.
We are staying at one of our favorite parks, Tom Sawyer's RV Park, right on the banks of the Mississippi River. Since we made reservations late we have a site on the second row instead of the first but we can still watch the barges move up and down the river. If you want front row seats, reservations need to be made at least a couple of months ahead. We have a very long, 50 amp, full hookup, pull-through with good Verizon and an easy shot to the satellite. There are trees in the park so you need to specify a satellite friendly when making reservations. We didn't do anything while here except, relax, watch the river and catch up some on our TV shows.
Tomorrow, we head for Red Bay, AL for about a week of getting many little things done on the Mothership including annual maintenance and hopefully, getting the roof satellite dish working again.
