Carpe Diem boondocking at Pima County Fairgrounds

Triple "T" truck stop and Omar's Restaurant
A hearty meal at a reasonable...

Fri, 17 Mar: Good friends = good times

After five whole days at The Roost we once again got underway. This time we headed south on I 8 and then I 10 to the Pima County Fairgrounds, located east of Tucson. This time we'll be attending the Escapees Rally.

We left The Roost at 0840 and arrived a tad after ten. We got parked with no delay near the main gate to the fairgrounds. We'll be boondocking here in a large dusty field so we're happy that we didn't spend much time cleaning house. It'll be full of dust before we're thru.

Sat, 18 Mar: Once parked yesterday we snooped around and learned that quite a few folks were already here. We celebrated Debbie Abernathy's birthday last evening by devouring corned beef and cabbage at a nearby truck stop. Today we met Bobbie & Lee for lunch at Costco, and tonite we'll be meeting Chris & Charles at Rigos for Mexican food. Yummy!

Fri, 24 Mar: It was a hot week, midday temps in the nineties. We had to start our generator a few times in the evening so the A/C could cool things down for sleeping. Yesterday (Thu) it cooled down quite a bit so the high was in the sixties. That's more like it...

During the week we met so many folks that we're loath to try and name them all lest we forget some. We attended seminars and visited the vendor row. We dined yet again with Tom & Debbie at an excellent Thai restaurant, Lucky Thai. Lunch on Thursday with Ben Ackerman, one of our RVing friends of longest standing. Thursday we also volunteered to drive golf carts which gave us many opportunities to "schmooze" with lotsa folks.

And, earlier today, we met with Bobbie & Lee for a fun visit to Saguaro National Park followed by lunch. We can't seem to get enough of these two amazing folks and we love spending time with them.

Tomorrow back home...
