This morning our Silver Sneakers exercise class was shortened so we could have our Christmas party. We did some exercises in a take-off of “Twelve Days of Christmas”: 1 Deep breath 2 Knee lifts 3 Jump Ropes (heels lifted) 4 Hamstring curls 5 Jump ropes (toes lifted) 6 Ladies dancing 7 Horses rocking 8 Jacks jumping 9 Pendulums swinging 10 Toes tapping 11 Drummers squatting 12 Lords lunging
After the exercises we gathered near our instructor’s visiting brother at his keyboard to sing a few Christmas carols. I don’t think any professional singers will be nervous about the possibility of our replacing them. :>)
Then it was time for some goodies. We had shortbread cookies, gingerbread, bagels with strawberry cream cheese, lemon crème cake, grapes, almonds and orange juice.
We all received a Gold’s Gym white and silver T-shirt and a water bottle with the motto, “Continuing my legacy – silver and strong”.
Today we tied the 1948 record high of 81 degrees. I had to use the air conditioner for a while.
