|We were met by a driver, who took us weary travelers directly to our hotel. Liz & Duane, who we were to meet on the 30th, were our greeting committee after they had taken the city tour of Madrid, which we missed that morning of the 31st. The only thing we could think of was to get our bags delivered to our room, brush our teeth & find something to eat as we were starved. After a short catnap, we walked to the Prado Museum to see the El Greco exhibit, which was quite impressive & moving. We agreed that we'd meet up with our friends for dinner. It was quite warm in Madrid, so we dined al fresco in a square (don't remember the name) & decided to have paella since we were in Spain. Since neither Peyton nor I have ever had it, we didn't know that what were eating was NOT a good paella per Liz & Duane & tasted a lot like some salty bad Rice A Roni by my taste buds. Too bad it was bad, but we had a few glasses of wine & we finally started to relax.
