Hi, Friends,

So we made it to a campground that DOES have WIFi. Therefore I'm updating the Journal. We were pooped and hot but took Colden for a short walk and a swim in Lake DuBay.

347 miles on back roads of America today. All along the North Shore of Lake Michigan then into farm country. We even passed a place that advertised "Pig Wrestling" as an activity...anyone interested? Easy driving for Joe on mostly quiet roads, so that's a plus. Lovely green fields and forests. Conditions are very dry and we passed several signs saying that the fire danger is VERY high.

So different from last year when we passed flooded fields and had rain on many days.

Beautiful weather, sunny and 85 degrees...we may have to use the air conditioning tonight! Stopped at a Subway for lunch in Menominee and met an ex Air Force guy. He was originally from Michigan but now lives in Colorado. He and his wife were doing what we're doing- except down south. They'd been out since April 1 and were now making their way back home. Small world in many ways. Had lunch in the trailer and then back on the road.

The pictures are all of Mackinac Is. Remember it's pronounced Mackinaw, regardless of the spelling. Hope you enjoy them.

Headed for Jackson, MN tomorrow another 300+ mile day. Hope to reach Interior, SD , Badlands National Park and Wall Drug by Monday night.

Take care all...Hope you're having as much fun as we are.

Love,

Joe, Ingrid & Colden
