Lunch stop

Blue Lake

We had not planned an early start, since the distance was not so great. On coming down to fetch the car out of the car park Charles said that he though we had a puncture. Yesterday we had driven over some shiny objects on the road. I pumped the tyre up and it held long enough for us to get to a tyre repair shop. Sure enough we had a nail in the tyre. Soon fixed and we were on the way.

We drove out along the Princes Highway following the coast, via a Pelican viewing point and then cutting across inland and heading south. We crossed the border into Victoria and stopped for lunch at the Big Lobster - mentioned in Bill Bryson's book.

Arriving in Portland, we walked on the beach before supper.
