Another beautiful sunset

We spent most of the day at the Biltmore Estate. We started by walking through the many beautiful gardens beside the house. One of the gardeners identified the Jewelweed for me. We then took the self-guided tour of the house. The Biltmore House was completed in 1895 by George Vanderbilt. It was opened to the public in the 1930's and is still privately owned. After the tour we drove to the winery and had a very late lunch at the Arbor Grill. We decided to skip the wine tasting but I bought a bottle of Chardonnay made from North Carolina grown grapes. If you are ever in Asheville, the Biltmore House is a must see.

We drove through downtown Asheville on the way to and from the Biltmore House. There were a lot interesting shops and cafes and we would have liked to have spent some time there. We'll save that for the next visit.
