Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, OK

Oklahoma City National Memorial

Memorial at Night

We left early this morning from Branson, making our way to Claremore, Oklahoma for lunch at The Pink House. The food, especially the desserts, were fantastic, but it did take us longer there than we had planned. We lost about an hour of time that we had to spend at the Will Rogers Memorial and Museum there in Claremore. We were able to spend a short 45 minutes there, so it was very rushed. What we got to see was quite interesting. It would be nice to visit there again sometimes to see more of it. We had to hurry on to Oklahoma City where we had some time set up with a ranger at the National Memorial Site. Since we were a little late arriving, however, we passed on the ranger talk and everyone took some time to walk through the memorial museum, then the grounds outside. It is such an emotional place to see. Several of us pursuaded our driver to take us back after dinner so we could see the memorial illuminated. Everyone should visit here. One can't see this place and not be changed. It is truly moving.
