Ponderosa RV Park in Swift Current, SK

We were up at the crack of dawn this morning and on the road out of Calgary at 7:00am this morning, gladly bidding good riddance to Whispering Spruce RV Park.

It was another scorcher today - well over 30C again! It didn't bother us while driving though as we have the a/c on in the truck. Quite an easy drive to Swift Current compared to driving in B.C. - just get the truck up to speed, about 95kmh, put it in cruise control, then sit back and relax - very, very straight and mostly very, very flat.

Entering Saskatchewan, we found a nice rest stop that had a kiosk with the vendors selling ice cream, and home-made Saskatoon Berry pie! One of the highlights of the trip so far! It was a great place to take a rest from driving and to have lunch and let the dogs have a run around for a while. We didn't see any rest stops in Alberta at all, but already in Saskatchewan we have run across two - hope that continues for the rest of the way across the Province.

We arrived at the Ponderosa RV Park in Swift Current at 2:30pm and were very pleased to find that it is an extremely well-kept park with very friendly owners. Our site is a full service pull-thru with lot's of tall trees giving us plenty of places to sit outside in the shade - there's even a nice cool breeze making it very comfortable to sit outside even though the temperature is in the high 30's Celsius!

Luckily, this park also has a free wifi service that is extremely fast - that's an added bonus here as none of the sites we've stayed at so far have had wifi connections that worked.

We'll be on the road again tomorrow morning heading for Moosomin, SK which is quite close to the Manitoba border. It should be an easy driving day as it is only about a 5 1/2 hour drive.
