The Emptynester's Travels travel blog

We arrived on Wednesday for the 2waySat Rally. It is a group of us on a Yahoo site who all have sat. dishes for internet service. It is an all volunteer rally where we share info.

Some of these people worked in the IT field before going on the road - others, like me, have a some user experience, while others might know how to turn a computer on. It is a very eclectic group of background, experience and knowledge. Throw in a bunch of vendors and you can get a picture of the group.

We are at Augie's Quail Trail park, which is well laid out and an easy place to park. They do lack a bit in customer service friendliness. But it is better than other parks in the area which are not as easy to maneuver.

We met good friends here - Bob and Dori, Art and Caroline and Jan and Ken. Dori was in charge of the chili cook off and Jan was in charge of the hot dog lunch so we got to volunteer for both. Both went well and no one left hungry.

Think a lot of the people here will be traveling to the Gypsy Journal Rally in Casa Grande today. That should be a fun rally - this one was more learning.
