On The Road To Kerrville
Apr 30, 2017
|A cold front passed through the Rio Grande Valley last night around midnight or a bit later. I was awakened by the strong wind around 1:00 AM and didn’t get back to sleep until after 3:00. Then we were up shortly after 5:00 AM.
We finished our morning coffee and started the final preparations for travel by 7:00, when it was light enough to see well outdoors.
We were connecting the car to the RV by 8:00 and left the resort at 8 minutes after 8:00.
We stopped in George West for fuel and decided to drive right through San Antonio because the traffic wasn’t too heavy on a Sunday. We arrived at the Buckhorn Lake RV Resort in Kerrville right at 2:00 PM.
We were delighted to discover that we were parked right next to friends, Mike & Leslie, who spend their winter months here at Buckhorn.
We were all set up by 3:00 and drove off to Billy Gene’s for something good to eat. We were really hungry because we had nothing to eat except for our coffee this morning and a small slice of coffee cake.
I ordered Chicken fried chicken which was a generous portion covered in gravy and served with mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans and corn. Oh we also had a freshly made hot roll with butter. Marilyn ordered a patty melt and sweet potato casserole.
When we returned to the resort, Mike & Leslie were sitting out so we carried some cold beverages over and shared them as we visited, catching up with these good friends.
We have some concerns about our family & friends back in Missouri, due to the heavy rain and flooding. Also for other friends who have been effected by the flood waters. We are keeping all of them in our thoughts and prayers.
Now we look forward to a relaxing evening and a good night of sleep.
Life is Good.
