Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We were up early, eager to start our day and get on the road again. Of course we had to take time to share our usual morning coffee before we began the day.

One minor problem appeared when I attempted to lower the TV antenna on the roof of the RV. It refused to stow or even to move at all. I climbed onto the roof of the RV and stowed it manually.

That was the only issue which slowed us down and we were ready to leave the Campground right at 8:00 AM as planned.

We rolled through Monroe City as we spoke to Steve & Cathy on the phone. They were about eight miles behind us so I drove at a steady 50 to 55 mph until they caught up with us near the exit to Marceline, MO.

We stopped for fuel at Cameron and then continued on to Topeka, where we were soon set up at Deer Creek Valley RV Park.

We sat together on the patio, with a cold drink, where the conversation turned to the fact that none of us had eaten since yesterday.

We climbed into our car and drove to the Mexican Restaurant we had been introduced to by friends, Tom & Bernie.

Our late lunch/early dinner really hit the spot as the food was delicious, and we returned to the RV’s feeling ready for a nap.

I worked with my computer trying to get caught up with my journal entries and Windows 10 updates.

Now we are ready to watch some TV and get a good night of sleep. Tomorrow we plan to share dinner with friends at the Texas Roadhouse. I’m sure that will be fun, and then we’ll be back on the road again headed to Oklahoma City on Tuesday morning.
