There you go!

Yeah, I had to buy one.

It was less than a two hour drive to my next destination so I lazily did my chores and internet viewing and didn't leave Springfield until 1:30 p.m. The manager and his girlfriend knocked on my door at about noon and I figured he was wondering when I was taking off. But no, since I had a cat, would I like the little black and white kitten with no tail? The promised parents had backed out. Someone had left the pregnant mama kitty at the fairgrounds and lo and behold, the manager's office became a nursery. I would love to give Boots a friend, but there was a problem. The litter (3 others all promised and all tail-less) were only 5 weeks old. They asked if I could stick around for another week. Oh, so close to getting a darling little kitten....

Since I left Adventureland, I have crossed the Iowa, Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio (not to mention the Des Moines, Red, Skunk and Little), but not every state has a river in its honor. And none, of course, has a river to match that Mississippi. There were riverboat rides on the Mississippi in St. Louis also, but I'm glad I went on my ride where Samuel Clemens gave himself the pen name, Mark Twain. Hannibal seemed a perfect place to board a riverboat.

St. Louis, on the other hand, is a perfect place to view the Mississippi and the world around it. The arch, 630 feet high, is the biggest stainless steel structure in the world. I don't know what I expected, but it was different. The view was fabulous and I had no idea I was going to get to view Busch Stadium! Or see Boots from the top of the arch. Well, I didn't really see him, but if he had been my Hunter, hanging his head out the window looking for me, I would have seen him. In my fifth wheel! Hey, kids, see if you can spot it.

My next stop will be where I am staying while I work at Amazon. It will be 17.8 miles from work and I'll be at the closest RV park! The next closest will be a 30 mile drive for the workers. I hope y'all will say some good words for a tolerable winter for me. I also want to thank all of you who posted messages in the Guest Book. I appreciate every single one of them and each post makes me feel like I've got someone traveling along with me. It feels good. Thank you for taking the time.

I'll post again, but I don't expect to have an abundance of side trips here in Tennessee. When I do, I'll post them.

Thanks again, everyone. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
