So I'm going to backtrack to last weekend for a bit. We made a short trip to Pierre, SD for a couple of reasons. Our friends Paul & Marcie (old owners of our campground) were in town for the weekend taking care of some business at their ranch. We were invited to take a tour of their properties, they actually own numerous buildings including three ranch houses & 15,000 or so acres in the Pierre area, and they planned to join us for a bit of the Dakota Western Heritage Festival.

The drive to Pierre was lovely with beautiful skies & rolling hills with a bit of cattle, crops & horses thrown in. We checked into our room & headed over to the Expo Center for the evening's music & steak feed. Many of our musician friends from all over the country were in attendance and we had a ball!

Saturday morning Paul & Marcie picked us up for our tour. Afterward we headed to the Expo Center for the afternoon activities and a bite of lunch. The center was full of displays & exhibits and the workmanship on display is really something. If you are a quilter you would think you've died and gone to heaven! Around 4pm we headed back to the room to check on Onyx & rest a bit before the evening's program so I'll end this post there for now. I took over 900 pictures from Friday-Sunday! Yep, I did! However, many were taken on Sunday as we detoured for the loop drive in the Badlands on our way back to Custer. So, I'll share a few today & a bit more tomorrow. Thanks!
