|A 180 mile run down I-95 to Hobe Sound, FL, right on US 1 north of West Palm Beach. We're staying at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, in a new and very well maintained campground. And, for the first time, a state park in which we're not in the deep forest. It is actually open ground (see pix). Nice change insofar as the "gloom factor" is concerned, and we can get satellite TV. BUT, we'll miss the trees once the sun shines.
"Once the sun shines", as in it isn't shining right now. It's overcast with intermittent rain, sometimes pretty heavy. We had rain off and on most of the way from Daytona Beach, some of which was so heavy that traffic slowed to a crawl on the interstate. There is more rain in the forecast for the coming week. Not sure if the rain is an artifact of the two tropical storms in the Atlantic or not... Just know it's wet.
We'll be here a few days before heading for Fort Lauderdale mid-week. Hope to visit with John and Eileen Frerking, our dear friends who live in West Palm Beach. This will be the week we'll start final preps for our forthcoming cruises, so we expect to be busy.
