Maine’s maritime museum is at the site of Percy & Small’s ship yard on the Kennebec River in Bath Maine where the schooner Wyoming, the largest wooden vessel built in the United States, was launched December 21, 1909. Part of the tour is a ride up the Kennebec on a retired Navy Launch and the Capt of the boat gave a great FYI tour. The Bath Iron Works is still building Navy Ships. The picture of the two lights, the one in back is higher, are used by the ships to line up so they know they are in the center of the channel. Also in Bath we found a Irish Pub where Guinness got his picture taken with the Guinness Girls.
