On most evenings, we take Cujo for a run in the grass....

Not much to do in Batesville, Indiana. We take Cujo for walks and ride our bikes when it isn't raining. Otherwise read books, play computer games, & Marcie is making jewlery. Friday afternoon we drove to the Ohio River, just west of Cincinnati, to one of the riverboat casinos for their Seafood Buffet. The crablegs were good, but all in all, the buffet wasn't worth the price. Last Sunday we went to a wonderful Brunch Buffet and wine tasting at the Ertel Cellars Winery about 10 miles away. Danny was invited to play in a men's golf turnament on two different days, and of course, he couldn't turn them down!

One day, when it wasn't raining, we drove to Greensburg, Indiana, to see the infamouse Courthouse Tree. Sprigs started to grow on top of the 110 ft tower in the 1870's and no one can explain why. In 1888, after workers counted 5 small trees, they removed 3 of them to prevent damage to the tower roof. One of the 2 remaining grew to about 15 feet with diameter of 5 inches at the base. This tree continued to weather the storms of different seasons for years. At the same time, another tree appeared and in a few years grew to a considerable height. This process has been repeated over time, leaving a tree sitting atop the Courthouse for more than 130 straight years. The tree there today is #11 in the long line of Courthouse trees. After reading about this, we had to go see for ourselves.

The campground has activities on the weekends, mostly for the kids. Last night they had Marriage Vow Renewals followed by a Desert reception with music. We decided to participate and renewed our vows. And we participated in eating the deserts too!

We will leave here on Tuesday and head for Bloomington, Illinois, for the CAT Club Rally. We are looking forward to seeing a lot of our friends there.
