Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and is the major access point to the south island. The city's harbour was formed by the flooding of a huge valley and then an earthquake pushed up Miramar peninsular in 1460 meaning the city's Victorian houses are built among very steep hills which we climbed to reach our hostel.
