Home at Mountaindale
Jul 27, 2016
|Marilyn & I shared our morning coffee inside the RV this morning, with the fireplace on. Outdoors at Raton Pass, it was a beautiful but cool morning. At nearly 8000’ elevation, the temperature in the 50’s was a bit too cool to enjoy sitting outdoors.
It was right at 9:00 AM when we followed Eddie & Jan out of the RV Park, heading north into Colorado.
We stopped at Trinidad for fuel and continued on through Walsenburg, and Pueblo, where we turned west on Hwy 50 toward the small town of Penrose, where we turned north again, this time on Hwy 115.
It was a few minutes before 12:00 noon when we pulled in to Mountaindale Cabins and RV Resort. We parked right behind our friends to register in the office, and noticed our friend, Bob, walking up to meet us.
Janet also joined us and it sure was nice to see our friends again.
After registering and paying for a month long stay, we started up the hill to our site but stopped again when we saw friends, Jesse & Ginger walking toward us. More hugs and visiting followed and then we continued to our Site (#82) where we were soon set up and ready to relax.
Marilyn & I sat outdoors with a cold drink, but had to go back inside and get showered and dressed for the feast hosted by Jesse & Ginger and Bob & Janet.
We all gathered at Jesse & Ginger’s site around 3:30 for cold drinks and lively conversation, followed by a great meal with tons of food. It was exceptional and absolutely delicious.
Having been on the road for the past week, it was natural that drooping eyelids followed that fine meal.
It was around 6:15 when we returned home and sat down to relax. I decided to get this journal entry written and posted because I knew that any delay might mean that it would have to wait until tomorrow.
We have no TV until at least tomorrow so we will try to read for a while. I would at least like to remain awake until dark.
