Santa Fe to Raton Pass
Jul 26, 2016
|We shared our morning coffee outdoors with Jan joining us, but we didn’t spend as much time as usual before getting things ready to go.
I worked outdoors while Marilyn worked indoors getting the checklist items completed. Things went smoothly until……..
Marilyn operated the slides as usual but we lost a bathroom door because it was open when the slide was moving in to the “stow” position. That slide is not visible from where the switch operating it is located, and it was the sound of the door being ripped loose which alerted her that all was not well.
We stored the door, which was much heavier than I thought it would be, on the bed for travel, and everything else went just fine.
We left the “Santa Fe Skies” RV Park at 8:35, a bit ahead of Eddie & Jan, who soon followed.
The drive took 3 hours and 15 minutes today and we pulled in to “Raton Pass RV Park” just a few yards south of the Colorado border at 11:50 AM.
Marilyn & I had just registered and walked out of the office when our friends, Eddie & Jan, pulled in.
It wasn’t long before we were parked side by side and all set up.
The four of us rode together as I drove to Trinidad to locate a Mexican Restaurant called “Tequila’s”.
The food was ok but didn’t compare favorably with the great food at “MarTanne’s” in Flagstaff. That spoiled us!
Sales of my e-book, “My Journey to the Clouds” are now only a couple short of 100 and the reviews have been great. I am very proud and humbled by the praise it has received.
Thank you to all who have purchased this book and those who were kind enough to leave a review on Amazon.
