Skies are clearing again, but not for long! It poured all night...

We pulled out of Casper, WY this morning to gray skies & low hanging clouds. The sun danced in & out as we traveled Wyoming Hwy 220 & US 287 to I-80. It took a couple of hours to reach Rawlins & near the end of that portion of our trip the rain hit hard. We don't like to pull our home in the rain and avoid it whenever possible. But today we pushed on, finally arriving at the Sweetwater Complex in Rock Springs before deciding to give it up for the day. Larry hooked up our electricity & got us unhooked for the evening but decided to wait on the rest of our utilities. He was soaked by the time he came inside.

Our journey today took us past the pretty Alcova Lake, Independence Rock, Martin's Cove & the Devil's Gate. We had hoped to visit all of them but the weather prevented stopping at nearly everything. So, I'm sharing just a couple of pics from other visits when we actually had sunshine! Perhaps they will inspire you to visit if you get in the area. We hope to visit the Flaming Gorge tomorrow if the weather improves. We last visited in 2011. Wow, how time flies! Fortunately, by writing this blog, we can go back & relive so many wonderful times & places that we've seen during the last 10 years on the road. We're actually in our 11th year now & have no plans to stop visiting new & interesting places. Larry says he is definitely not 'done exploring yet' :)

A few family & friends have suggested that I do a book with photos & chatter of our past 10 years on the road. I average 15,000 pics or so each & every year so that would be quite a daunting task. But, I'm thinking about it! Something to leave the kids & grandkids to maybe inspire them to give up 'things' and enjoy trips around this beautiful country sooner rather than later? Sounds like a good idea to me, LOL!
