Today Dianne Bennett, Inge Rider and I attended a concert at the Blanton Museum of Art. Today’s program featured five very talented undergraduate guitar students of Professor Adam Holzman and consisted of these four pieces: “Percuson” by Gerardo Tamez, “Sonata Giocosa” by Joaquin Rodrigo, “Etudes No. 3, 7, 11, 12” by Heitor Villa-Lobos and “Baião de Gude” by Paulo Bellinati.
The featured piece of art was “Espelho para Valazquez” by Waltercio Caldas of Rio de Janeiro. It consists of a large framed mirror, cardboard and yarn and is part of the artist’s private collection on loan to the Blanton. He spent about a week directing the arrangement of the exhibition.
We had lunch at the Blanton Café.
