Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We were ready to leave before 8:00 this morning and pulled out of Mitchell’s RV Resort at 10 minutes before 8:00, heading east and then north. We arrived in Gainesville, TX just an hour and a half later. We crossed into Oklahoma, leaving Texas behind for now, exactly 2 1/2 hours after we left Perrin. It was a total of five hours and 20 minutes for our trip today but that included a stop to fuel the truck and drain the sumps.

We arrived at the Checotah KOA at 10 after 1:00 and we were set up and sitting outdoors with a cold drink by 2:00.

We went inside to eat a bite but didn’t want to eat too much because the little restaurant here offers some tasty food for dinner starting at 5:30.

Tomorrow we are only going to be on the road for about three and a half hours, traveling to Carthage, Missouri where we will remain at Coachlight RV Park for two nights. That will put us in Hannibal on Sunday if all goes well.

I like to write about travel time between destinations on this blog because I often find myself looking back to see how long it took to travel a certain route as we prepare for a trip.

It is nice to get off the road early in the day, in order to have time to relax.

We will be in no hurry tomorrow so I’ll get this blog posted and join Marilyn in relaxing.

Life is Good!
