|Yesterday was a travel day and not a lot of fun.
Eddie had arranged for a late checkout from our hotel so we were able to leave our luggage in the room while we wandered around, sharing a nice lunch at Carrabbas Italian Restaurant, just a short distance from our hotel.
We then retrieved our baggage and rode the shuttle to the airport.
I received an email from Southwest Airlines as we rode to the airport, informing me that our flight would depart 30 minutes later than scheduled.
Then we had a gate change. Then the headwinds made for a later than expected arrival in Houston.
We had to run from our arrival gate, about 20 gates down the concourse, to our departure gate where we found the aircraft waiting with all passengers but the four of us already on board.
We departed right on the scheduled time though, and were delighted to see our friend, Bob, waiting for us in Harlingen.
We were quickly on our way home to Retama and Bentsen Palms Village in Mission.
It was so good to be home again, even after a wonderful trip with good friends.
Now we need to get busy, getting things back in order, paying some bills, and completing the process for becoming residents of Texas.
I have lots of pictures to get posted for the appropriate days of our cruise, so I’ll work on that at time permits.
In the meantime, it sure was nice to sleep in our own bed.
