Today we took a short drive to Florence, where we will spend the next four nights. It was a very pleasant little trip. Florence is known as the “City of Rhododendrons”. It is located 60 miles west of Eugene where the Siuslaw River empties into the Pacific Ocean. (www.florencechamber.com)
After we had gotten settled, we ran a few errands. First, I needed to pick up a packet of mail which I had had forwarded to General Delivery at the Florence Post Office. Then we went to the Bridgewater Fish House on Bay Street in Old Town. I had already eaten lunch so I just had a glass of tea while Barb ate her lunch. The last stop was at Fred Meyer for groceries. I had not done any grocery shopping in a long time so my cupboard was getting bare.
I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening going through my stack of mail and getting caught up on business.
