RV's "camping" in desert

Parker Dam - Arizona one side, California on the other

When we left Williams we didn't know where we were headed other than west and warm. We ended up in Lake Havasu City. We were able to get the last spot in a Passport America Park. We were told that we could have that spot for two nights and if we wanted to stay longer they had another site for 3 nights but we would have to leave by Feb. 4 as they were all sold out. We took the spot for two nights and it was overlooking the lake. We were able to sit out in the sun and watch the boats on the lake. After two nights, we decided we really didn't want to move so took the other site for 3 more nights. We were tired. It has been really nice. We visited the London Bridge which was disassembled in London and brought over here stone by stone and reassembled to original specifications. We rode the ferry across the lake and back. We also spent a lovely afternoon visiting with friends from the Newmar Kountry Klub that live in the area. We took one day just to clean the coach and relax. Yesterday we went for a ride south along the Colorado River down to the Parker Dam. We still find it amazing that people will just camp out in the middle of the desert. Every once in awhile we will come across RV's just parked out in the desert. This has been a very good stay. It has given us a chance to recharge our batteries and the sunshine and moderate temps. have been great. We run our little fireplace at night but during the day we are able to open windows. Who could ask for more? We are leaving here today for Boulder City, Nevada. It's only about 80 miles from here. Sunday we will move on to the LA area of California.
