|It was easy to be ready to go this morning, because we left the truck & the car hooked up last night.
We crept out of our Site at 10 minutes before 8:00 this morning.
Of course the word “crept” is relative as the rattle bang noise of our diesel truck is difficult to hide.
We stopped about 10 miles away to fill the truck with fuel, then headed down Hwy 69. That poor excuse for a highway, rattled every bone in our bodies, not to mention the other items inside the truck and the RV.
I swear, we must have disappeared from sight as we dropped into some of those potholes. Oklahoma gets my vote for having the worst roads in the entire United States.
Clear blue skies teased us all the way to the Texas border, as the clouds remained over us, with that clear blue remaining behind and to the west of us.
We hung on tight and finally arrived at our destination in Perrin, Texas, a few minutes after 1:00 PM. Needless to say, we were worn out, hungry, and ready to be off the road.
After we set up the RV we disconnected the truck and drove it to the convenience store, about two miles away, to fill it with diesel fuel.
While we were there we ordered a large pizza to go, and grabbed some snacks to carry in the truck with us tomorrow.
We seldom travel more than two consecutive days, but tomorrow will make it three in a row this time. I guarantee that we’ll be ready to stay put for a couple of days.
We have no internet service here, in spite of having a strong signal, we get no “log-in” screen.
I will post it when we get time after reaching Kerrville tomorrow.
