Our tour guide collected us shortly after 8 and we set off for Bariloche via a series of beautiful lakes. The sight of so many people camping in such idyllic locations has me increasingly convinced that next time we travel we are taking a tent. Not so sure about the hitch hiking though, the roads were lined with students baking in the sun and hoping for a lift. Surely far too much competition for everyone to succeed.

At the end of our tour we were dropped off at our next hostel, Alaska, which is 7kms out of town and feels like a hobbit hole. We didn't hang around for long before heading back into Bariloche to feed our tums and explore the city centre. First impressions are that it is not as pretty as San Martin, but it will serve as a handy base to explore the many nearby national parks.

Tonight we hit downtown Bariloche. We got chatting to some students on holiday from Buenos Aires and ended up going out to a club at 2 in the morning, which didn't end until 9. We didn't quite last the distance but 6am was a nice time to leave as the sun was just coming up behind the mountains creating a gorgeous picture.
