Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Man, it was cold outdoors this morning. Our thermometer showed 28 degrees F. We were feeling sorry for our son-in-law, who is working outdoors today.

I told Marilyn that it was time to head for the palm trees, mariachi music, margaritas, and 85 degree weather.

We left the Mark Twain Cave Campground right at 9:00 AM, with Casper II securely connected to the back of the fifth wheel. We stopped briefly at Kingdom City for fuel, then continued on to Joplin, arriving just a few minutes before 3:00 PM.

It was during the stop in Kingdom City that I noticed one of the RV wheels was missing its hub cap. Bummer! Maybe one of our friends will see it and bring it to me as they travel the same route tomorrow. LOL

Once we were all set up, we sat together on the patio, sipping a cold drink. Several other RV folks dropped by to visit. One gentleman is a new full-timer who had several questions about towing a car behind the fifth wheel. He and his wife had recently attended an RV-Dreams Rally, put on by Howard & Linda, who are good friends of ours.

Another gentleman walked over and we discovered that he is from Milan, MO, where one of our family members is the football coach.

Marilyn & I decided to stay in after a hard day of travel, so we shared some delicious home-made potato soup, left over from yesterday. It was just as delicious today!!

As I write this journal entry, Marilyn is relaxing with her cross-stitch project while I watch a really good football game on TV.

Tomorrow, Bob & Janet, Jesse & Ginger, and Steve & Cathy, will all join us here at the Coachlight RV Resort near Carthage, MO.

We will probably all go out to eat.

Life is Good!
