Carpe Diem at Carolyn & Al's home

Sat, 25 Aug: We change location and time zone...

After a very restful week in Chattahoochee it was time to pull up roots and continue on. We were both up before seven and we got things ready for the road following breakfast. Bob pulled out of Triple C Campground at 0930 and we were quickly on I 10 heading west.

The drive was uneventful with reasonable traffic and good weather. Shortly after we got on I 10 we crossed the Apalachicola River and entered the Central Time Zone. Wow, we just got one hour younger...

East of the Escambia Bay we left the Interstate for FL 281 north a few miles to U.S. 90. We took 90 west a few miles and then local streets to arrive at the home of Carolyn Martin & Al Fredricks. We've known Al & Carolyn for several years now as they are regular attendees at the Winnebago rally. They're members of the 365 full timers group and have kindly offered their side yard to us for our stay. Actually, it's a whole lot more than a side yard, it is very level and has 50 ampere power. Yea!

Tue, 28 Aug: A busy few days...

We've been busy, primarily good busy. Our hosts, Carolyn Martin and Al Fredricks have been keeping us busy. On Sunday they spent the entire day showing us around Pensacola. We visited the beaches, downtown, shopping, lunch, etc., etc.

Monday we spent the day looking around on our own. We liked what we saw, but really didn't care too much about the hot and humid weather. Neither did our fridge as the humidity really had it struggling. Thankfully, it never got too warm to where there was any danger of food spoilage.

Today was a stay at home day. We did laundry and had Carolyn & Al's handyman, Darrin, replace our kitchen faucet. The old one had reached a point where we couldn't swing the arm from one sink to the other. A new faucet was the best remedy.

Tomorrow we'll head west toward Texas...
