Winter 2009-2010 travel blog

We are not in Q - we are not VCRing a great chapter. This is how it happened.

A few weeks ago I noticed a lump in my lower abdomen. That, along with some other things that were going on, prompted me to see a Urologist last Friday. He wanted some tests, so Sunday was spent in the wonderful "prep".

Monday was the test where they put a contrast solution in my vein and I laid on a hard, cold table for over an hour while they took x-rays every 5 minutes. This showed how my kidneys and bladder working to remove the contrast solution from my body - and any other problems.

Tuesday, I could hardly walk. My back was going into spasms from that cold table. We went over to the KOFA for lunch and were so glad to see old friends who we hadn't seen since last May. Later that afternoon I got a call from the Dr. that he wanted another test and there was an opening on Wednesday.

Wednesday, we traveled to Sun City with Monday's x-rays in hand. I won't go into the tests but suffice to say they weren't fun. BUT!!!

ALL TESTS WERE NEGATIVE!!! Who knows what the lump was - probably fat! No masses, no infections, nothing to biopsy, nothing to cauterize, nothing but healthy pink tissue with a few scars from old infections. The only instruction were to keep my sugar under control and have a good life.

In the meantime, Susie Orr had found other VCR's to take over our duties and told us not to worry about them. So we won't be going to Q.

I am much relieved about and feel so much better. It has been about 3 - 4 weeks since I felt what I thought was a lump and started worrying. Last night was the first full night's sleep in a long time.

Thanks for letting me share it with you. Hope you have a good week.
