We had a great 3 days in St. Louis. We were able to visit lots of great people, and do lots of fun things. First, we visited Betsy's high school friend, Diana Knapp and her two great kids Lauren and Jonathan. Diana's husband, Stephen, was out of town during our visit, but we'll catch him next time! We had a great visit and were treated to a great dinner to boot! All four kids had a fun time playing with each other and got along very well! A fun time was had by all and it was great to catch up on all that's happened in the past year or so.
Our next visit was with Teague's Aunt Gindy and Uncle Richard. We had a great visit with them and another great dinner (I'm seeing a trend here....) We also got to visit with Teague's cousin, Marcy, and her family and also cousin Melissa. Gindy and Richard generously took us to the zoo and were great zoo guides. The kids loved the St. Louis zoo and didn't really want to leave. We threatened to leave the kids at the monkey house, though.
Our last set of folks to visit was Betsy's cousin, Rick and his wife, Lois. We were treated to yet another great meal and great company. It's not often that we get to see aunts and uncles and cousins, so this was a real treat for both Teague and myself.
On our own we discovered a wonder bike trail called the Katy trail in St. Charles. We rode only 2 miles round-trip, but it was beautiful along the Missouri River and next to historic St. Charles. We learned that Lewis and Clark camped near the town for four days before they set off on their journey up the Missouri. There was a wonderful bronze statue of Lewis and Clark and Seaman in St. Charles. We were all very impressed.
