Picnic table with a view

Baby grapes

Roman remains

After three days of exploring and quite a bit of driving we decided to have a quieter day at base. However we did decide after lunch to try one of the local walks. The trail was well signposted and took us along a ridge through vineyards and then down and through a deep wood where we discovered Roman remains associated with wine. We then came out again into vineyards near the hamlet of Kesten. Rather than continuing further we decided we would turn back as the sky looked quite threatening. The heavens opened about 100yards from the car. We had made it back just in time.
