We drove an easy 86 miles from Branson south then east to Bull Shoals State Park in Arkansas.

Check one off the “Bucket List” for Dave this stop as he has a quest to catch Brown Trout on the White River which runs right by this state park. Ask any fly fisherman who has been at it for some time and they’ll say catching large brown trout on the White River at Bull Shoals is in their top ten of things to accomplish. Dave’s first fish was a nice brown trout of about 12 inches. Neither one of us caught anything extra large but we had a lot of fun fishing and taking in the “aura” of the White River rumbling behind our coach down the canyon. On our last day it rained, so we went to the park visitor center, up at the dam of Bull Shoals. We learned a lot about how the dam was built, local birds, the many fish and people of the area.

This is one stop we'd like to repeat but for a longer stay.
