Sherkston Shores Campground

Sherkston Shores Quarry

Sherkston Shores Lake Erie Beach

Our plan was to spend two weeks at Sherkston Shores RV Resort. The park is a Sun Resort property located in Ontario about 15 miles west of Buffalo on the north shore of Lake Erie. Our initial impression of the park was not good. It is a very large park with a plethora of speed bumps that made our journey from the office to our site a nasty bumpy one. A second irritant was the location of the utilities near the front of our site forcing long lengths of electric cord, water hose and sewer hose. Thirdly, there was no wifi at our site. On the positive side our site is long and sits on the shore of a water-filled quarry with a nice view.

The big issue for us at this point is Sue’s hip bursitis. It has rendered her unable to walk very far and that is a limiting factor for our usual activities. Today we visited a chiropractor in St. Caherine’s who advertised a treatment for bursitis. We had a good visit and he identified a tightness in Sue’s back that he felt was contributing to her pain issue. We have scheduled several visits to the chiropractor and have lengthened our stay for an extra week at Sherkston Shores. I am working on scheduling another park in the area so that we can spend at least a month near here.

We have been taking advantage of the Boston Pizza Restaurant in the park for takeout food and have had only one meal out at the Canalside Restaurant in Port Colburn on the Welland Canal.
