This morning I was up before dawn in hopes of getting an early start on my trip to Johnson City for the Cen-Tex rally. As usual, I went first to Discount Tires to have the air pressure checked. They were very busy, so I had to wait for about an hour before they could even get to me. At last I was on my way, arriving around noon at the Roadrunner RV Park. They assigned me site #18, the one where I stayed for over three weeks in July -- my “home away from home” as Carol put it.
We had only nine attendees this time but Carol let us have the clubroom anyway. She is such a nice person!
For lunch today several of us walked across the street to El Charro Restaurant. The food was good but the service was very slow because they were so busy.
At our business meeting this afternoon Mikail handed out the words to a song he wrote for our chapter, “The CenTex LoWs Song (sung to the tune of “Do Your Ears Hang Low”). I had never heard the song about the ears, so I couldn’t sing it. We couldn’t conduct some of our business because we didn’t have a quorum present.
