Carpe under the trees at RV Village, Mercer
Trees provide shade, and block...

Thu, 16 Jun: We spent another relaxing nite boondocking in the APS parking lot. But, all things must end and this morning we made Carpe ready to travel and rolled wheels a few minutes after 0900.

Today's journey was 161 miles, with mostly rain from drizzle to pretty heavy. Our route took us back to I 99, then north to I 80, and west to Mercer (exit #15). We exited north in US 19 to the town of Mercer, and then onto PA 258, a narrow country road with several bridges marked with a ten ton load limit (Carpe and Dinkum combined weigh in at eighteen tons). We drove real fast over those bridges.

In due course (about 1220) we arrived at RV Village, a Passport America park in which we stayed June of 2009. We were assigned a pull through site under mature trees, which eliminates any satellite TV (and marginal radio) reception. Fortunately, the Verizon signal is fairly strong so we have phone and internet.

We are parked just a few sites away from Brian and Jane Rose, the folks who masterminded the Marion, NC Escapees rally we attended late April/early May. It was great to see them again and we'll visit more during our stay. We'll be here until Sunday morning as the RV park in the Dayton area cannot accommodate us during the weekend.

We're settled in and watching a thunderstorm that's approaching from the west. We're only a few miles from Youngstown and may visit there during our stay—but then again we may not...

More anon.
