|Spent the morning and early afternoon wandering around Paihia and Russell. Russell is where NZ's capital was originally located back in the late 1800's before it was moved to Auckland due to conflict with the natives.
At about 5pm, joined up with the tour I booked yesterday on "The Rock", a party boat that used to be a car ferry.
After we got under way, we toured the bay, used a 2L coke bottle as target practice with air-rifles (at about 30m), tried to catch some fish (unsuccessfully - well we had to throw them all back), rowed around on kayaks under moonlit waters, and played pool. Pool! On a boat! Interestingly enough, even with the rocking of the waves, the balls didn't move that much.
After dinner, we drank a bit, then called it a night after the generator was stopped around 1am.
