This morning I was up before dawn so I could get my propane tank filled before leaving the RV Ranch. I wanted to get to McClain’s early to have my vehicles inspected. Ach!! Because it was pouring rain, they couldn’t legally do it since they couldn’t check the brakes. Now I’ll have to try again on the way back to Lake Texoma or find another place to have it done. I decided that I would postpone my Camping World maintenance chores, too.
It rained on me all the way from Fort Worth to Elm Mott (six miles north of Waco in McLennan County) and it continued raining off and on all day. I didn’t hook up to the water or sewer because I have enough fresh water on board and my holding tanks have enough capacity, so I can wait until tomorrow to finish hooking up, if need be.
The I-35 RV Park is rather large and has many amenities, including pool and spa, meeting rooms, game room, exercise pavilion, two laundry rooms, fishing ponds and even a little petting zoo. In the winter the park is filled with winter Texans. The park also offers free WiFi service but I was unable to connect to the Internet with either of my computers. I kept getting the error message “…cannot find the server…”
I called Cousin Helen Smith of Waco to make plans for a little visit. Unfortunately, Helen was not feeling well but she thought she would feel well enough by Friday. She gave me phone numbers for two places in Waco where I might be able to have my vehicles inspected.
Several other Lazy Dazers arrived today. Our rally officially starts tomorrow and ends on Friday morning. However, we were allowed exclusive use of the little clubhouse today because we already have more than the minimum of ten rigs. We were certainly glad about that because we could all be together and out of the rain.
