Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Driving home around 4:30pm today, it wa so pretty...

I ran in and grabbed my camera...

Walking up the driveway, I turned toward town for this shot...

It wasn't quite as dark in the other direction...

That speck in the middle is one of the many planes arriving...

And one final shot, pretty indeed...

Today I lazed around for most of the morning, finally managing to get myself moving around 2pm. I had to pick up one final gift for my honey. We're having a joint birthday party tomorrow for niece Cindy, hubby Larry and niece Ashley. Cindy's birthday was actually last Sunday, Larry's is this Sunday and Ashley's is later in the month. With demanding schedules (at least for the rest of them!) it's nice that they are all willing to celebrate them together.

I picked up the last few things needed for the party and arrived home in time to catch the sun setting to beautiful colors and patterns. I rushed into the house to grab my camera in time to catch a bit of the show. It was really quite pretty. The only thing that would have made it better was to be viewing it above a lake or the ocean!

The weather has remained in the high 50's, even low 60's so we certainly can't complain. Many of you are fighting record cold temps and snow and I'm sorry for that. Mom & Dad have moved down to sister Joyce's for the next couple of months to escape the cold and snow for a bit. They are in Mesquite, only an hour and a half from here, so it will be easier to visit them. Mom's birthday is February 8th, so we'll see them then if not before. I spoke to Paul today, owner of Custer Mtn Campground in Custer, SD. He told me our space is covered in record snow and the temp was -28 a day ago, so not to hurry this year. Brrrrr.....

Well, that's it for now. Time to hit the sack. I've got plenty to do tomorrow before our guests arrive. Goodnight....
